For several years I have been planning, praying, writing, praying, organizing and praying some more about how God could use me if I ventured into women’s ministry. This journey of writing a blog devoted to women was bathed in prayer and started with me taking a look back at bible studies I had participated in, book marking sites and messages that shared powerful resources, and a notebook that I had used for years to jot down ideas or topics that could be used to encourage women of all ages. From there I began writing devotionals based on situations or circumstances that played heavily into my day-to-day life, and before I knew it my heart and passion for encouraging women had moved a step closer to what I believe He wants for me, and Peacefully Imperfect came to life.
If you’re expecting someone famous to emerge from these pages, then you will be disappointed. If you’re hoping to see solutions and answers from the perfect woman on how to enjoy a stress-free life, freedom from the day-to-day struggles and hassles, and a marriage and children that will never present you with painful moments, then you will be disappointed. What I want you to see is how this woman thrives and survives in the world we live in and perhaps see it through a different lens. I’m not a bible scholar nor am I an expert of the scriptures. But what I do have is a daily walk with my Lord and Savior. The older I get, the more devoted I become in digging deep to find His words that keep me grounded and seeking peace that only comes from Him.
Every 7-10 days there will be a new devotion conveying a message of joy, hope and peace, while being supported by the firmest foundation of all–the scriptures. In addition, you will find a weekly inspirational quote, links to other blogs to help strengthen your daily walk, book recommendations that could serve as a personal study or just be something you want to read for enjoyment. And finally, there is a section titled, Enjoy the Journey, where I will offer extra words of encouragement to help you live a life filled with joy. There are no quick fixes or silver bullets for finding real joy, but it comes from deep within as you build an intimate relationship with Him.
In a few days I will post the first devotion to begin our walk. I am excited about our time together and ask for your patience and prayers as I move forward in this amazing journey.
