
Pumpkin Chai Latte
A great hot beverage perfect for a cold morning or by the fireplace in the evening.
Equipment
- 1 medium saucepan
- 1 blender (optional)
- 1 set measuring spoons
- 2 cup measuring cup
Ingredients
- 2 cups milk (any kind)
- 2 chai tea bags
- 4 tbsp pumpkin puree
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground ginger
- 1/8 tsp ground cloves
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
Instructions
- In a saucepan on low heat, stir together pumpkin puree, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and nutmeg. Use a spoon to mash the ingredients.
- Add milk, brown sugar, and chai tea bags. Simmer on low for five minutes then take off heat. Discard tea bags and add vanilla extract.
- Keep stirring while on the stovetop so that the pumpkin is completely incorporated into the milk and the sugar has dissolved.
- Pour the milk mixture into an electric milk frother or a blender and process for about one minute until mixture turns foamy.
Notes
Zizi says: You can also use a canning jar with a lid to make the milk mixture frothy. Simply heat the milk mixture in the jar in the microwave just until hot–not boiling. Put the lid on and shake until the milk is frothy. You may need to hold the jar with a towel while shaking. Pour the hot beverage in a cup and sprinkle with cinnamon
