30 Day ‘Thankful Heart’ Challenge – Week 1 Devotional
Listen to iPhone or iPad here.
During this season of thanksgiving we often find ourselves more focused on being thankful and grateful than other times of the year.
That is certainly a step in the right direction.
But what we need to focus on is having a heart full of GRATITUDE because it turns what we have into ENOUGH. Meaning, we are thankful for what we have, rather than what we don’t.
What would happen if at the end of this 30 days we committed to the ‘Thankful Heart’ challenge and made it last 365 days? After all, thanking Him should be on our lips daily.
It could happen you know. And when it does, we will be a much kinder people, forever changed and transformed.
God’s word tells us in Psalm 100, “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God……Enter His gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.”
Developing an attitude of gratitude is what keeps us grounded and appreciative of what we have.
When situations spiral out of control or don’t work out like we think they should, it is during these times that we should, ‘praise Him in the morning and praise Him in the evening.’ In all things praise Him.
So continue to ask God to cultivate in you a more grateful heart.
And then show Him what that looks like. For God has provided both big and small blessings in your life, and He longs for us to acknowledge the beauty of what He has provided.
Journal your prayers and praises this week and continue to look for ways to grow your ‘thankful heart.’
I’ll be praying for you.
