Good morning. We are in Day 27 of the ‘Thankful Heart’ Challenge and I have enjoyed reading all of the posts, comments, and texts from many of you participating in this study. My heart has been touched by all that you have found gratitude and thankfulness in.
My thankfulness is tied to my faith in my Heavenly Father. I am so excited to see each new day and I stand in awe and wonder as I travel the path He sets before me.
Some of my days resemble one another in joy, peace, kindness, and calm. Other days I encounter stumbling blocks, unkind people, and misunderstandings.
But I am grateful to Him for giving me the ability to persevere, love others, stand firm in commitment, be honest, stand for truth, and believe in His purpose.
It is through Him that I can do these things. It is because of His sacrifice that I have abundant life. And, there is much to be thankful for.
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again, Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. In the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-7
In a few days this study will be completed. But I want you to remember that gratitude doesn’t have an expiration date. So let’s show our thankfulness and gratitude every day throughout the year. Make it a practice everyday to look for the blessings, both big and small.
And most of all, don’t just thank Him when you make it through a situation or challenge. Thank Him while you’re in the middle of the situation or challenge…..that’s where the learning takes place.
“Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:7
Have a blessed season of thankfulness and gratitude and wake up each morning with an ‘Attitude of Gratitude.’
I’ve enjoyed our time together and I’ll be praying for you in the week ahead.
