Oh my! Favorite Christmas memory? There are so many! But the one thing that stands out is every year my older sister and I dragging our blankets and pillows into the hallway to see if we could catch Santa in the act. My mom always let us, but we never caught him. Not once! I haven’t seen my sister in a very long time, but thinking about those wonderful times brings a smile to my face and joy to my heart!
One of my favorite Christmas memories is when the box arrived from my Grandparents in Pennsylvania each year. I always knew the “standard Grandmother gifts” were enclosed like new underwear. But I also knew there was also two treasured treats. One was a box of ROCK CANDY. A sweet confection candy shaped like toys. And the other box would always contain my grandmothers Christmas cookies. YUM. I miss those boxes!!
When I was 3 or 4 I lived outside Atlanta Georgia. We didn’t have much and I was so excited to see fruit and nuts under the tree that Santa had left for me. Wonder what kids would think of that today? I was blessed with love and that was enough.
My favorite Christmas memory was when I was helping with the Christmas play at church. The children that were in the donkey costumes somehow got their tails tied together during the play. We could not get them undone!
My favorite Christmas memory is when my parents were alive, Dad would have all of us around the piano singing Christmas Carols! My husband thought this was the coolest thing when he went for his first Christmas with us. Still talks about it to this day.
Favorite Christmas Memory is wearing our p.j.’s (no matter what time the party is) and having breakfast food for our family Christmas Party. Every year my daughter in laws and I try a new and different breakfast recipe.
My fav Christmas song has always been
“I’ll be home for Christmas”
It is a very sad song but growing up a military kid, I was always aware that
some Daddy’s did not get to be with their family at Christmas.
