Cultivate a Joyful Life
We are given the opportunity every day to cultivate a joyful life. How do we do it? By growing our relationship with Christ through prayer, studying Scripture and practicing joy-filled living through obedience.
Living a joyful life is knowing that God is in control of every situation. It’s trusting Him and knowing that everything is going to be okay. It’s praising Him in all situations every day.
Finding Joy
Our lives are not perfect. We live in a world struggling to understand what joy looks like, what ‘being joyful,’ really means and understanding where lasting joy comes from.
According to Brene Brown, “A joyful life is not a floodlight of joy. A joyful life is made up of joyful moments gracefully strung together by trust, gratitude, inspiration and faith.”
At some point we will experience a difficult situation or series of events that will make us wonder how we can be joyful or joy-filled when we are mired down in our circumstances.
Filling Our Hearts with God’s Word
How do we handle it? By weeding out those things that get in the way of our being joy-filled and instead fill our hearts with God’s Word.
Memorizing God’s truths give us comfort and help us to be steadfast as we meet life head on.
